I've been driving the M3: I am back in love again...

I have been driving my 1995 M3 coupe for over a week now. I haven't driven it consistently in months. The car has an awesome 5 speed manual transmission, a silky smooth inline 6 cylinder 3.0 liter engine and a limited slip rear differential that reminds me why I love these pwerful, rear wheel drive cars. I love the way the car pins me in the seat when I launch away from a stoplight. It makes me feel like Sunny Crockett driving a ferrari in an episode of Miami Vice. Wednesday was a particularly cold day. I walked out of the house to find that the M3 was covered in light snow and the driveway was covered in a sheet of ice. Weather of this type usually convinces me to drive the 4X4 Expedition. Not this day. I drove the car to work.

Adam drove his X3 and parked it next to the M3. He was shocked that I had the nerve to drive the car to work with the streets covered in ice. "I'm an Ice Road Trucker" I replied. The 1995 M3 is old school. It has no "electronic nannies". There is no traction control. The driver (me) is the traction control. Driving this car is an incredibly rewarding experience...

  1. I need to get more seat time in your M3. Although I would love an e30 M3, the probability of owning one is slim. Now a 1995 M3 4DR....yeah, I can buy one of those. :-) Timing...all in timing...

  2. No problem. The E36 M3 is a great car. You should consider owning one. The coupe was available from 1995-1999. The sedan was only available from 1997-1998.
