MY BRAND NEW M3!

My 1995 BMW M3 had been maiking a strange rattling sound that I thought was the VANOS system beginning to fail. The car also began hestitating at times, which gave me pause. I told my friend Adam (The Wolf) about it. He went for a test drive and didn't at first see an issue. The inline 6 cylinder engine seemed to be working as advertised. we continued driving and suddenly the hestitation reappeared. We stopped and opened the hood to take a look. The Wolf made a video recording of the engine running. After some internet resaerch, he found out that the problem was likely loose spark plugs. He was right. Yesterday, we changed the spark plugs and discovered that two plugs were loose, one spark plug had no ground electrode at all! this means that at least one cylinder has not been firing.

Back in the saddle...

It is time to renew the fight. It is time for more automotive dreams to become fulfilled. It is time to get rid of the project car E36 convertible and get to work on the project car E24 Racer.

I've been driving the M3: I am back in love again...

I have been driving my 1995 M3 coupe for over a week now. I haven't driven it consistently in months. The car has an awesome 5 speed manual transmission, a silky smooth inline 6 cylinder 3.0 liter engine and a limited slip rear differential that reminds me why I love these pwerful, rear wheel drive cars. I love the way the car pins me in the seat when I launch away from a stoplight. It makes me feel like Sunny Crockett driving a ferrari in an episode of Miami Vice. Wednesday was a particularly cold day. I walked out of the house to find that the M3 was covered in light snow and the driveway was covered in a sheet of ice. Weather of this type usually convinces me to drive the 4X4 Expedition. Not this day. I drove the car to work.

Adam drove his X3 and parked it next to the M3. He was shocked that I had the nerve to drive the car to work with the streets covered in ice. "I'm an Ice Road Trucker" I replied. The 1995 M3 is old school. It has no "electronic nannies". There is no traction control. The driver (me) is the traction control. Driving this car is an incredibly rewarding experience...
